Merl Saunders

Merl Saunders (born February 14, 1934 in San Mateo, California) was a musician who was well known for being a multi-genre musician who played piano and keyboards, and specifically his talents at the Hammond B-3 console organ. He also partnered with Jerry Garcia. Merl died on October 24, 2008 and his death was because of complications from a stroke. He died at age 74.
