Michael Brunswick Ritchie (born November 28, 1938 in Waukesha, Wisconsin) was a film director, film producer, and writer who was best known for directing the 1972 political drama film, “The Candidate” and the 1969 sports drama film, “Downhill Racer”. Michael died on April 16, 2001 and his death was reportedly because of complications from prostate cancer. He died too soon at age 62.
