Nelson Mandela (born July 18th, 1918) was a South African attorney, political agitator, and statesman who was best known for his twenty-seven-year-long imprisonment (which brought negative attention to South Africa's apartheid system), and for his single-term administration as the first freely-elected President (and the first black President) of the integrated South Africa. Nelson Mandela died on 5 December 2013, of complications of illnesses with which he had been afflicted in his last years. Nelson Mandela was 95 when he died.
