Nichelle Nichols (born December 28th, 1932 in Robbins, Illinois) was an TV Actress who was best remembered for playing Lieutenant Uhura in the original "Star Trek" TV series. Nichelle died on July 30th, 2022 and her death was said to be a result of heart failure. She was fairly old when she passed, being 89 years old.

"Nichelle Nichols was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on December 15, 1940. She was the daughter of Maj.Gen. Leslie Nichols, who served as the commanding general of the U.S. Army's 2nd Infantry Division and concurrently the commanding general of the U.S. Forces in Europe. Nichols graduated from high school in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1957 and then attend[ed] the University of Arizona, where she earned a bachelor's degree in history in 1960. Nichols then served as an officer in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1966 before transferring to the U.S. Naval Academy, where she earned a law degree in 1966.
