Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde (born October 16, 1854 in Dublin, Ireland) was a poet and playwright who was best known his work on the 1890 novel, “The Picture of Dorian Gray” and the 1895 play, “The Importance of Being Earnest.” Oscar died on November 30, 1900 and his death was because of meningitis following an ear infection. He died young at age 46.
