Pamela Lyndon Travers (born August 9, 1899 in Maryborough, Australia) was a writer who was best known for writing the children's book “Mary Poppins” series of books that featured the eponymous magical nanny, which later became a film adaptation. Pamela died on April 23, 1996 and her death was possibly because of old age. She died at age 96.
