Paulo Reglus Neves Freire (born September 19, 1921 in Recife, Pernambuco) was an academic and clergy who was best known for his leading advocate of critical pedagogy and for his 1968 book, “Pedagogy of the Oppressed.” Paulo died on May 2, 1997 and his death was because of heart failure. He died at age 75.
