Pierino Ronald “Perry” Como (born May 18, 1912 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania) was a singer, film actor, and TV personality who was best known for having a career spanning more than half a century and recorded exclusively for RCA Victor for 44 years after signing with the label in 1943. Perry died on May 12, 2001 and his death was due to complications from Alzheimer's disease. He died at age 88 just six days before his 89th birthday.
