Peter Wooldridge Townsend (born November 22, 1914 in Yangon, Myanmar) was a military personnel and author who was best known for being an equerry to King George VI from 1944 to 1952. He performed the same job for Queen Elizabeth II from 1952 to 1953. Peter died on June 19, 1995 and his death was because of stomach cancer. He died at age 80.
