Rabindranath Tagore FRAS (born May 7, 1861 in Kolkata, India) was a poet, writer, and artist who was best known for being the first non-European writer to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913. Rabindranath died on August 7, 1941 and his death was due to natural causes. He died at age 80.
