Ralph Abernathy

Ralph David Abernathy Sr. (born March 11, 1926 in Linden, Alabama) was an activist and clergy who was best known for being ordained in the Baptist tradition in 1948. He was known as a friend and mentor of Martin Luther King Jr. Ralph died on April 17, 1990 and his death was because of heart attack. He died rather young at age 64.
