Robert Earl Wise (born September 10, 1914 in Winchester, Indiana) was a film director and producer who was best known for the 1961 film, “West Side Story” and the 1965 film, “The Sound of Music.” Robert died on September 14, 2005 and his death was because of a heart attack. He died at age 91 just four days after his 91st birthday.
