Roy Fox Lichtenstein (born October 27, 1923 in Manhattan, New York) was an artist who was best known for becoming a leading figure in the new art movement and his work "defined the premise of pop art through parody". Roy died on September 29, 1997 and his death was because of pneumonia. He died at age 73 just for weeks before his 74th birthday.
