Saddam Hussein Abd al-Majid al-Tikriti (born April 28, 1937 in Al Awja, Iraq) was a politician and criminal who was best known for serving as the 5th president of Iraq and was reportedly responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people. Saddam died on December 30, 2006 and his death was because he was executed by hanging. He died at age 69.

"Saddam Hussein was a dictator who ruled over a country that was once a republic. After he came to power, he started to kill anyone who dared to challenge him. He also began to building an ironclad dictatorship, which made it difficult for anyone to have a say in his reign. In 2003, he was overthrown by a group of his own generals, and he was taken into exile in Iraq. He died in 2006 after a long and expensive battle with cancer. (V)"
