Sam Bottoms

Mr. Sam Bottoms (born October 15th, 1955 as "Samuel John Bottoms") died quietly in hospital on December 16th, 2008 with his lovely daughters nearby. His cause of death was due to a brain tumor. He was 53 years old when he passed.

Sam is survived by his parents, Betty Bottoms and James "Bud" Bottoms, beloved wife Susan Arnold, his children, daughters Io Bottoms and Clara Bottoms, his siblings, brothers Timothy Bottoms, Joseph Bottoms and Ben Bottoms as well as his pet fish, Max.

Professionally, Sam was a Film Actor who was best known for his role as Lance B. Johnson, a Navy Gunner's Mate in the infamous war movie "Apocalypse Now".

When he was not working as a Film Actor, Sam was known for his love of playing bocce and he would spend months most Thursdays polishing it. Mr. Bottoms (the deceased) also spent days visiting with his older sister most Tuesdays when he was able to spare a lot of months. Ever since he was a boy in Santa Barbara, many remember Sam as a joyful sole with wonderful tales that shocked everyone. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a heartfelt donation to the Heart Foundation in Sam's honor.

A ceremony of life is scheduled for Monday the 25th at the cemetery in Santa Barbara. The service will commence at 9AM with a reception to follow hosted by his older sister at the burial place where refreshments will be served. All are welcome to the visitation to be held at cemetery at 9AM.
