Theodora Sarah Orne Jewett (born September 3, 1849 in South Berwick, Maine) was a novelist, writer, and poet who was best known for her American literary regionalism works near and along the southern coast of Maine including her 1896 novel, “The Country of the Pointed Firs.” Sarah died on June 24, 1909 and her death was because of a stroke. She died too soon at age 59.
