Phyllis Naomi Hurwitz (born January 17, 1933 in The Bronx, New York City, New York) was a puppeteer, TV show host, and TV actress who was best known for being the original puppeteer of the sock puppet, “Lamb Chop.” Shari died on August 2, 1998 and her death was because of uterine cancer. She died at age 65.
