Sherman Hemsley (born February 1st, 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) was a TV Actor who was best known for for his roles as George Jefferson on the 1970's-1980's television shows "All in the Family" and " The Jeffersons". Sherman died on July 24th, 2012 and his death was apparently due to cancer. He was 74 years old.
