Sidney Sheldon (born February 11, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois) was a writer who was best known for writing the successful 1947 comedy drama film, “The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer” and for creating the 1960’s sitcom, “The Patty Duke Show.” Sidney died on January 30, 2007 and his death was because of pneumonia. He died at age 89 just twelve days before his 90th birthday.
