Silas Joseph Simmons (born October 14, 1895 in Middletown, Delaware) was a baseball player and notable person who was best known for playing for African Americans in the pre-negro leagues era and for being the longest living major league player in history. Silas died on October 29, 2006 and his death was because of old age. He died at the old age of 111.
