Simo Häyhä (born December 17, 1905 in Rautjärvi, Finland) was a military personnel who was best known for being a Finnish sniper in World War II during the 1939-1940 Winter War against the Soviet Union and was nicknamed “The White Death.” Simo died on April 1, 2002 and his death was possibly because of old age. He died at age 96.
