Salvatore Philip Bono (born February 16, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan) was a politician, singer, and TV actor who was best known for being the Mayor of Palm Springs and being in a singing group with his wife, Cher. Sonny died on January 5, 1998 and his death was because of a skiing accident by skiing into a tree. He died at only age 62.
