Spiro Theodore Agnew (born November 9, 1918 in Baltimore, Maryland) was a politician who was best known for serving as the 39th vice president of the United States from 1969 until his resignation in 1973. Spiro died on September 17, 1996 and his death was reportedly because of acute leukemia. He died at age 77.
