Stephen E. Ambrose (born January 10, 1936 in Decatur, Illinois) was an author who was best known for for his biographies of U.S. Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower and Richard Nixon. He also wrote books about World War II. Stephen died on October 13, 2002 and his death was because of lung cancer. He died rather soon at age 66.
