Stephen Valentine Patrick William Allen (born December 26, 1921 in New York City, New York) was a TV personality, radio personality, musician, composer, actor, comedian, and writer who was best known for being the first host of The Tonight Show. Steve died on October 30, 2000 and his death was possibly because of an ruptured blood vessel sustained from a minor car accident. He died at age 78.
