Stokely Standiford Churchill Carmichael (born June 29, 1941 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago) was an activist and politician who was best known for being an organizer in the civil rights movement and the global pan-African movement. Stokely died on November 15, 1998 and his death was because of prostate cancer. He died too soon at age 57.
