Robert Keith “Syd” Barrett (born January 6, 1946 in Cambridge, United Kingdom) was a singer-songwriter and musician who was best known for co-founding the rock band “Pink Floyd” in 1965 and was the original frontman and primary songwriter. Syd died on July 7, 2006 and his death was because of pancreatic cancer. He was only 60 years old at his death.
