Tillie Lerner Olsen (born January 14, 1912 in Wahoo, Nebraska) was an author and writer who was best known for being one of first generation of feminists and for her powerful fiction about the inner lives of the working poor, women, and minorities . Tillie died on January 1, 2007 and her death was possibly because of old age. She died at age 94 just thirteen days before her 95th birthday.
