Warren Earl Burger (born September 17, 1907 in Saint Paul, Minnesota) was a civil servant who was best known for serving as the 15th chief justice of the United States from 1969 to 1986 and for serving as Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit from 1956 to 1969. Warren died on June 25, 1995 and his death was because of congestive heart failure. He died at age 87.
