William Cuthbert Faulkner (born September 25, 1897 in New Albany, Mississippi) was a writer and novelist who was best known for his novels and short stories set in the fictional Yoknapatawpha County, based on Lafayette County, Mississippi, where he spent most of his life. William died on July 6, 1962 and his death was because of a heart attack caused by thrombosis. He died quite soon at age 64.
