William Denby Hanna (born July 14, 1910 in Melrose, New Mexico) was an animator and cartoonist who was best known for being the creator of many of the popular cartoons of the mid 21st century. His creations include “Tom and Jerry” including The Flintstones, Scooby-Doo and Yogi Bear. He also founded the animation studio and production company “Hanna-Barbera” along with Joseph Barbera. William died on March 22, 2001 and his death was because of esophageal cancer. He died at age 90.
