William Franklin Beedle Jr. (born April 17, 1918 in O’Fallon, Illinois) was a film actor who was best known for his Academy Award for Best Actor for the film, “Stalag 17” and the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for the TV film, “The Blue Knight.” William died on November 12, 1981 and his body wasn’t found until four days later. His sudden death was reportedly because of an accidental fall resulting in internal bleeding. He was only 63 when he passed on.
