William Seward Burroughs (born February 5, 1914 in St. Louis, Missouri) was a writer and a visual artist who was best known for being an instrumental part of the "Beat Generation" and a major postmodern author who famously influenced popular culture and literature. William died on August 2, 1997 and his death was because of a heart attack. He passed on at age 83.
