Wilson Pickett (born March 18, 1941 in Prattville, Alabama) was a singer-songwriter who was best known for being a major figure in the development of American soul music and recorded in excess of 50 songs which were listed on the United States R&B charts. Wilson died on January 19, 2006 and his death was reportedly because of a heart attack. He died too soon at age 64.
