Yves Henri Donat Mathieu-Saint-Laurent (born August 1, 1936 in Oran, Algeria) was a fashion designer who was best known for founding his self-named fashion label in 1962. He was considered one of the foremost fashion designers of the later half of the 20th century. Yves died on June 1, 2008 and his death was because of brain cancer. He died at age 71.
