Helen Adams Keller (born June 27, 1880 in Tuscumbia, Alabama) was an American author and activist who was best known for efforts for improving treatments for the deaf and the blind by removing the disabled from asylums, and for her 1903 novel, “The Story of my life.” Helen died on June 1, 1968 and her death was because of old age. She died at age 87 just a few weeks before her 88th birthday.
