Thelma “Butterfly” McQueen (born January 8, 1911 in Tampa, Florida) was a film actress who was best known for her first role as Prissy in the 1939 film, “Gone with the Wind.” Butterfly died on December 22, 1995 and her death was because of an accidental house fire caused by kerosene heater that malfunctioned. She died at age 84.
