Dalia Messick (born April 11, 1906 in South Bend, Indiana) was a cartoonist who was best known for being the creator of the comic strip, “Brenda Starr, Reporter”, which during the 1950s ran in 250 newspapers. Dale died on April 5, 2005 and her death was likely due to old age. She died at age 98 just six days before her 99th birthday.
