Dusty Springfield (born April 16, 1939 in West Hampstead, London) was a singer who was best known for her distinctive mezzo-soprano sound, and was a popular singer of blue-eyed soul, pop and dramatic ballads, with French chanson, country, and jazz in her repertoire. Dusty died on March 2, 1999 and her death was because of breast cancer. She died at age 59, just one month before her 60th birthday.
