William Lee Shoemaker (born August 19, 1931 in Fabens, Texas) was a sportsperson who was best known for being a professional horse jockey that held the world record for total professional victories for 29 years. Bill died on October 12, 2003 and his death was because of natural causes. He died at age 72.
