Denver Dell Pyle (born May 11, 1920 in Bethune, Colorado) was a film actor, TV actor, and film director who was best known for having a number of TV roles from the 1960s through the 1980s, including his portrayal of Briscoe Darling Jr. in several episodes of the American comedy TV series, “The Andy Griffith Show.” Denver died on December 25, 1997 and his death was because of lung cancer. He died on Christmas Day at the age of 77.
