Anna Eleanor Roosevelt (born October 11, 1884 in New York City, New York) was a politician and activist who was best known for serving as the first lady of the United States from 1933 to 1945, during her husband President Franklin D. Roosevelt's four terms in office. Eleanor died on November 7, 1962 and her death was because of heart failure following tuberculosis and aplastic anemia. She died at age 78.
