Carl Bert Albert (born May 10, 1908 in McAlester, Oklahoma) was a lawyer and politician who was best known for serving as the 46th speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1971 to 1977. Additionally, as a Democrat, Carl represented Oklahoma's 3rd congressional district from 1947 to 1977. Carl died on February 4, 2000 and his death was possibly because of old age. He died at age 91.
