John Lawrence Asbery (born July 28, 1927 in Rochester, New York) was a poet and academic who was best known for his postmodern complexity and opacity. He is know for his 1975 poetry collection, “Self-Portrait in a Convex Mirror.” John died on September 3, 2017 and his death was because of natural causes. He died at age 90.
