Edson Nascimento (born October 23rd, 1940 in Três Corações, Brazil) was a Footballer who was widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers (soccer players) of all time. He dominated the sport in the 1960s and 1970s, scoring over 1,000 professional goals in his career. His ability to score from any angle, as well as his lightning-fast speed and unparalleled ball control, made him a formidable opponent on the pitch. Pelé also had a knack for delivering in the biggest moments, scoring crucial goals in World Cup finals and other international tournaments. He was also a leader on and off the field, captaining the Brazilian national team to three World Cup victories. Pelé's impact on the sport is undeniable, and his legacy lives on as one of the all-time greats.
Pelé died on December 29th, 2022 and his death was because of colon cancer. He was 82 years old when he passed.
