Robert Trent Jones Sr. (born June 20, 1906 in Ince-in-Makerfield, United Kingdom) was an architect who was best known for designing more than 500 golf courses in 35 countries including 45 in the United States. Robert died on June 14, 2000 and his death was possibly because of old age. He died at age 93 just six days before his 94th birthday.
