Barry Morris Goldwater (born January 2, 1909 in Phoenix, Arizona) was a politician and military personnel who was best known for serving as a five-term U.S. Senator from the state of Arizona and the Republican Party nominee for president of the United States in 1964. Barry died on May 29, 1998 and his death was because of complications of a stroke. He died at age 89.
