Coretta Scott King (born April 27, 1927 in Haiberger, Alabama) was an author and activist who was best known for being a leader for the civil rights movement in the 1960s and for being the wife of Martin Luther King Jr. Coretta died on January 30, 2006 and her death was because of respiratory failure. She died at age 78.
